These terms are written in plain English. They’re a real legal agreement, but if anything is unclear, just email us at hello@tumblekeys.com and we’ll explain it like a human.
The Gist
- TumbleKeys is free to play on any device, forever. No account required.
- The $9 Family Pass is a one-time purchase — no subscription, no auto-renew.
- Full refund within 30 days, no questions asked.
- We don’t collect anything from your child and we never resell what little we collect from you. (Full details in our Privacy Policy.)
What TumbleKeys is
TumbleKeys is a web-based toy for babies and toddlers — open it in any browser, hand the device to a tiny human, and let them smash keys, taps, or finger drags while themed worlds react in real time.
The core toy is free, runs on any modern device, and works offline after the first visit. The $9 Family Pass is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks more themes, educational voice modes, bedtime mode, split-screen co-play, and a handful of other features described on the home page.
By using TumbleKeys, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, that’s fine — don’t use it. We won’t be offended.
Your license (Free tier)
You can use the free version of TumbleKeys on any device you own or control, forever, with no account, no signup, and no payment. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the toy for personal household and family entertainment.
You don’t need to read the rest of this document if you’re a free-tier parent. The sections below apply mostly to paid customers and business use.
Family Pass ($9 one-time)
The Family Pass is a perpetual license to TumbleKeys’ full feature set for personal household use. When you buy a Pass:
- It’s a one-time payment. No subscription, no auto-renew, no surprise charges.
- It unlocks every theme and feature we’ve built (and every theme we will build), forever.
- You can install the Pass on as many devices as you, your kids, your spouse, and your grandparents need — there is no per-device limit. We may flag accounts that exceed ~100 active devices in a month for manual review, on the assumption that’s probably commercial use, not a family.
- The Pass is non-transferable. Don’t resell it, don’t share it with a neighbor’s family — but installing it across the devices used by your own household is exactly what it’s for.
- Pass features won’t disappear if our servers go down. They’re locally enabled by a signed token stored on your device.
Business tier
If you want to use TumbleKeys in a daycare, pediatric office, restaurant waiting area, library, or any other commercial / public setting, you need a Business tier license. The Family Pass explicitly does not cover commercial use.
Business plans are per-location, annual, and include kiosk mode (which disables the in-app exit codes so toddlers truly can’t leave the toy without an admin password). See /business for current pricing, or reach out for custom-volume pricing.
Refunds
We offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked. Email hello@tumblekeys.com with the email you used at checkout and we’ll process it within a few business days.
After 30 days, refunds are at our discretion — typically we’ll still help if something is broken or you bought by mistake. We’d rather have a happy ex-customer than an unhappy current one.
Acceptable use
We’re trusting you to use TumbleKeys responsibly. In particular, don’t:
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to TumbleKeys (free or paid).
- Scrape, mirror, or otherwise systematically copy our content (themes, audio, illustrations, code).
- Reverse-engineer the license verification system to bypass purchase.
- Attempt to exhaust our infrastructure (DoS, rate-limit abuse, etc.).
- Use TumbleKeys in any setting that requires a Business license without buying one.
If you violate these in a meaningful way, we can revoke your access without a refund.
What you own / what we own
Your kid’s play data belongs to you. Smash counts, personal-best records, the kid’s name you put in the parent panel — all of it stays on your device’s local storage. We don’t have it.
The TumbleKeys app, themes, audio recordings, illustrations, code, and brand belong to us (Diego Valdivieso, dba TumbleKeys). You don’t get a right to redistribute or repurpose them outside the personal-use license described above.
If you want to build something on top of TumbleKeys (an integration, an embed, an extension), email us — we’re open to it, we just want to know.
No warranties
TumbleKeys is provided “as is.” We’ve poured a lot of care into making it safe, stable, and pleasant — but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted service, that it’s free of bugs, or that it will work on every device. Some features depend on third-party services (Stripe, Supabase, browser APIs) that we don’t fully control.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Liability cap
Our total liability to you, for any claim arising from your use of TumbleKeys, will not exceed the amount you’ve paid us in the last twelve months — which, for a Family Pass holder, is $9. We’re also not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
This isn’t us being callous — it’s the standard limitation that makes it possible to ship software at this price point.
Termination
We can terminate your access if you materially violate these terms (sublicensing, scraping, abusive behavior, etc.). You can stop using TumbleKeys at any time — just close the tab.
If we terminate a paid Pass for a clear terms violation, no refund. If we terminate for reasons unrelated to your conduct (we shut down the service, etc.), we’ll pro-rate refunds where appropriate.
Changes to these terms
We can update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of the page, and for material changes affecting paying customers we’ll email you. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
